Wandering alone in California, malnourished and suffering from ringworm, Mia was in the worst shape imaginable. She was terrified of people and was happiest hiding in a corner alone. At just 2 years old, Mia had experienced the unthinkable. But with some TLC, a few medications and regular meals, Mia began to turn around. Her ringworm started to heal, she began putting on weight and she started to snuggle with her foster family. Within a few weeks Mia’s true personality began to shine through. She became a goofy, playful pup and had finally come out of her shell. Mia ended up finding an amazing family, who could not love her any more. The VanTassel family still keeps in touch with us and constantly sends us updates. Mia is their WORLD and we could not have found a better home for her! Mia does not look or act, like the same dog. She is outgoing, her coat is beautiful and she has a certain, sparkle, in her eyes. Mia is one of our favorite success stories; not only because of her incredible family, but because of the obstacles she had to overcome in order to find such a wonderful family.
