Meet Our Board of Directors
Courtney Givens, CEP, President
Courtney joined the Board of Must Love Dogs, NW in 2014. She is the owner of Simple Pleasures Events, a successful event planning business working with local for profit and nonprofit companies for the past 18 years. Her business has provided Courtney with a unique industry knowledge and understanding of the local nonprofit environment. She uses these skills to head up the major events, fund raising, and outreach for Must Love Dogs.
In her personal life, Courtney and her husband Adam enjoy the love of three furry family members, their Pixie-bob cat Buck, Bull Terrier Lucy, and French Bulldog Cooper.
Jami Ayers, Board Member at Large
Jami joined the Board of Must Love Dogs NW in early 2016. She works as a client services representative at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital where she assists clients & our volunteers with setting up appointments for all their veterinary needs.
In her personal life Jami, and her husband Ray, enjoy being a “failed foster family” to Willa, the fluffy Husky Shepherd alum. Additionally, she uses her passion for photography with Ayers Fine Art Photos to benefit Must Love Dogs NW events & pet portraiture.
Lisa A. Tom, CPA, Treasurer
Lisa joined the Board of Must Love Dogs in 2015. As a CPA, she has operated her own firm since 2001 and is licensed in Washington, Hawaii, Nevada, and Oregon (Inact). Lisa and her firm provide accounting and tax services to Must Love Dogs.
Lisa and her partner share their home with four dogs: Bitsy, an American Staffordshire/Boxer mix, Pookie, a Miniature Schnauzer, Stewart a West Highland white terrier, and Tiger the Chihuahua.
Jamie Campbell, Board Member at Large
Jamie joined Must Love Dogs in 2014. Jamie is a lawyer and has worked in the Post-Acute care profession for the past 25 years.
She started out expecting to just adopt but that 1st visitation lead to fosters and adoptions. Jamie has a passion for taking care of people and dogs. Her pack includes three Must Love Dog alumni all pit bull mixes.
Jamie and her husband Dan split time between Honolulu and Vancouver for work. Sherman, pit bull adoptee, being the lucky one now lives full time in HI.
Deborah Capper, DVM, Board Member at Large
Deborah joined the Board of Must Love Dogs, NW in 2017. She started volunteering for Must Love Dogs in 2015 after she joined Mountain View Veterinary Hospital as a veterinarian. Though she is now working at Woodland Veterinary Hospital Deborah has continued to volunteer and now serves as a board member.
In her personal life, Deborah and her husband, John, enjoy spending time with their many pets including Sampson their 1 year old Pit Bull whom they adopted through Must Love Dogs.
Callie Scranton, LVT, Board Member at Large
Callie is a licensed veterinary technician at Mt. View Veterinary Hospital in Vancouver, Washington. She received her Master’s in the Art of Teaching from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon but eventually realized her heart was in animal care. She has been an active member in the rescue community since 2004 and co-founded Must Love Dogs NW in 2008. She has played many roles in the group throughout the years but currently oversees placement requests and medical care for the dogs in the rescue.
Callie enjoys volunteering at her daughter’s elementary school and spending time with her family skiing, hiking, and enjoying other northwest outdoor activities. She lives in Vancouver with her husband Russell, daughters Emma and Lauren, and dogs Darla and Autumn.
Jenn Walsh, Board Member at Large
Jenn joined the Board of Must Love Dogs NW in 2017. She currently works as the Marketing Manager at Pacific Lifestyle Homes and she uses this knowledge in assisting with the MLD website and other marketing channels. In her personal life, Jenn and her husband, Joe, enjoy the love of three furry family members, their Newfoundland – Jesse, Beagle – Nigel, and Basset Hound – Hank. Jenn welcomed her daughter Brooklyn in 2018.
Maggie Nolan, Board Member at Large, Administrative Services Manager, Secretary
Maggie joined Must Love Dogs NW in 2015. In her role Maggie supports day-to-day administrative operations she also oversees and supports our Adoption Counselor’s throughout each dog’s journey in our program. Maggie is an alumni of WSU (Go Cougs!) and does Human Resources for Banfield Pet Hospital. She loves working in an environment that combines her passion for animals with her profession.
In her free time Maggie loves being active and working on obedience training with her two dogs Lola and Lexie. She equally enjoys snuggling on the couch with her two cats Leo and Calvin. She also loves to travel and work on home improvement projects whenever time allows.
Haylie Engels, Board Member at Large
Haylie joined Must Love Dogs NW as the Volunteer Coordinator in 2016. She is a veterinary assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital. She has a deep love for all things four legged and the PNW. As previously a manager of a local cake shop, she worked closely with the community and learned she had a knack for talking to people! This has helped her to increase our range of events and brought in more volunteers.
Outside of MLD, Haylie and her scruffy mutt Harland love eating their way through Portland and finding news spots for adventures!
Olivia Cebollero, Board Member at Large, Foster Coordinator
Olivia just joined the Board of Must Love Dogs NW in 2018. She began as an Assessment Coordinator then worked her way to being the current Foster Coordinator. Olivia works as a Client Service Representative at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital.
In her spare time, she spends it relaxing with her two dogs, Penny the Doberman Pinscher and Buster the Pitbull/Akita mix.
Patrick Robinson, Board Member at Large
Patrick joined the Board of Must Love Dogs, NW in 2018. He is currently an attorney in Skamania and Clark County. Patrick has had dogs his entire life and loves spending time in the Gorge with his wife Brittany.
V.I.V.s (Very Important Volunteers)
Theresa Ayers, LVT, Canine Assessment Coordinator
Theresa’s primary task in the group is the intake of the dogs, she meets them and assesses their behavior. It is so very important to her to do these dogs justice, anything from rehoming to a full behavioral and medical rehabilitation, and MLDNW shares that goal, which is why she loves this group.
Theresa lives in Vancouver, WA with her husband, beautiful baby daughter and two MLDNW alumni Pitties – Marley and Logan!
Christina Long, Canine Assessment Coordinator
Any dog that enters into our adoption program meets with Christina as one of our assessment coordinators for a behavioral assessment.
Christina is also an adoption counselor and foster for Must Love Dogs NW.
She has three of her own fur babies, Trixie, Betty Lou, and schnauzer Gage that keep her quite active!
